05. Frieren; Beyond Journey's End

Frieren; Beyond Journey's End

The story follows elven mage Frieren, a former member of the party of adventurers who defeated the Demon King and restored harmony to the world after a ten-year quest. In the past, the heroic group included Frieren, human hero Himmel, dwarven warrior Eisen and human priest Heiter. Before they part, they observe the Era Meteors together, a meteor shower that occurs once in fifty years. Frieren agrees to see them again and offers them a better view the next time the celestial event occurs. Frieren then departs and travels the world in pursuit of magical knowledge.

Frieren returns to the capital fifty years later; however, humanity has changed, and her former companions have distinctly aged. After one last adventure to see the meteor shower, Himmel dies of old age. During the funeral, Frieren expressed guilt for not attempting to learn more about him. Frieren then pays a visit to her other former comrades. She accepts an offer to teach and care for Fern, an orphaned child adopted by Heiter. She also receives an invitation to travel far north, to the resting place of souls, and see Himmel again to bid the hero a fitting farewell and express her feelings. To fulfill those requests, Frieren embarks on a journey together with Fern while still pursuing her passion for learning magic.

Frieren's elven nature grants her an extremely long lifespan, causing her to view periods of years or decades as ephemeral (this perception of time makes her consider the ten-year adventure with Himmel's party a fleeting experience). The story thus takes place across a long time, with periodic flashbacks accompanied by the physical and mental development of characters apart from Frieren herself.

Before Armin has a chance to transform, he is captured in a Titan's mouth. Suddenly, countless versions of the Nine Titans of the past appear on Eren's back, created by Ymir Fritz to defend him. Just as the Scouts and Warriors are nearly defeated, Annie and Gabi appear on the back of Falco's new flying Jaw Titan. Meanwhile, Armin discovers Zeke in the Palace

Armin and Zeke have a conversation about the meaning of life and Armin convinces Zeke to share his viewpoint and the two call on the deceased Titan shifters throughout the series to help the alliance. Zeke then materializes on Eren's Titan and allows Levi to kill him, which stops the Rumbling. After Armin is rescued, he uses the power of his Colossal Titan to destroy Eren's Founding Titan, releasing the centipede-like organism, the source of all Titan power, from Eren's nape. Falco flies down to the Liberio refugees, but the reunion between the Warriors and their families is cut short when the source turns the nearby Eldians, including Jean, Connie, and Gabi, into Titans to help defend it. Reiner, Annie, and Pieck engage the Titans and the source to prevent it from reconnecting with Eren while he transforms into the Founding Titan once again to fight Armin, leaving Mikasa and Levi the only ones left who can take Eren down. Jumping off of Falco's back, Levi uses a Thunder Spear to destroy Eren's Titan's mouth exposing his human form within and Mikasa beheads Eren. Ymir is thus freed from the Paths allowing her to pass on, and the Titan powers, along with the source, disappear from the world, turning all the Eldians permanently back into humans.

Toward the Tree on That Hill: After Eren's death, Armin (and the others) recall a conversation with him prior to his death where he reveals his true motive was to ensure his friends’ statuses were elevated to the saviors of humanity to the rest of the world, alongside giving them the long, fulfilling lives he wanted them to have in a world free of Titans. After mourning their friend, Armin decides to take credit for killing Eren, Mikasa leaves to lay Eren to rest on Paradis, and the Scouts and Warriors are hailed as heroes by the survivors of the Rumbling.

Three years later, with eighty percent of humanity decimated, the Jaegerists strengthen Paradis' military to prepare for a potential future attack from the rest of the world, while the remaining Scouts and Warriors become the world's ambassadors for peace negotiations with Paradis. Mikasa buries Eren's head under a tree that he would frequently rest under as a child and continues to visit his grave throughout the rest of her life. Many generations later, a futuristic Paradis is bombed from above and destroyed in a war. Over time, Paradis is reclaimed by the wilderness, and within this wilderness a lone boy and his dog approach the tree Eren is buried at, which has since grown to resemble the original tree that contained the source of the Titans' power.

02. Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc

Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc

Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira assist the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui against the sibling demons Gyutaro and Daki, holders of Upper Six of the Twelve Kizuki, they realize that the only way to kill the siblings is to behead them simultaneously. The trio coordinates their attacks to behead Daki but Tengen is critically injured by Gyutaro, who then stabs Inosuke from behind with a poisoned sickle to retrieve his sister's head. Zenitsu pushes Tanjiro off a roof to save him from Daki's slashes, after which Gyutaro arrives to mock Tanjiro for his inability to save his friends and protect his demonic younger sister, Nezuko.

Gyutaro attempts to persuade Tanjiro to turn into a demon but Tanjiro head-butts him, secretly stabbing the demon with a poisoned kunai. Gyutaro is immobilized and Tanjiro attempts to behead him. Before Daki can intervene, she is attacked by Zenitsu, using the last of his strength to reach her neck as Inosuke joins him, having survived by moving his internal organs upon being stabbed. Gyutaro removes the kunai and recovers; he almost kills Tanjiro but Tengen intervenes and battles Gyutaro. Tanjiro summons his remaining strength, causing a strange mark to appear on his forehead and slashes Gyutaro's neck while Zenitsu and Inosuke cut through Daki's.

Together, the Demon Slayers behead the siblings, whose heads roll close to each other. Tengen warns a heavily-poisoned Tanjiro to run away just as Gyutaro's body explodes into waves of blood blades that destroy the entire city. However, Nezuko uses her Blood Demon Art to burn the blades and save her brother from the poison. She also burns away Gyutaro's poison from Inosuke and Tengen, saving their lives. Tanjiro finds a dying Gyutaro and Daki arguing about their defeat and insulting their relationship.

Tanjiro intervenes, pressing for them to make amends with each other as all they will have left after all the horrors they committed will be each other just as Daki disintegrates first, while Gyutaro remembers their human lives before being transformed into demons as he disintegrates as well. In the afterlife, Gyutaro and Daki reconcile upon remembering the promise they made to never be apart again before they walk together into Hell. Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro arrives and commends Tengen for killing Upper Six of the Twelve Kizuki but Tengen informs him about his retirement from the Demon Slayers as well as Tanjiro's potential to become a Hashira.

Meanwhile, demon king Muzan Kibutsuji summons the remaining five Upper Rank demons – Akaza, Gyokko, Hantengu, Doma and Kokushibo – to inform them about Gyutaro's death. He admonishes them for their failures and lack of purpose, before sending Gyokko and Hantengu on a joint mission to cripple the Demon Slayer Corps.

Two months later, Tanjiro has a dream about his ancestor's encounter with a Demon Slayer from the past that saved their family and wore the same earrings as Tanjiro, before waking up from a coma, still recovering from his injuries while Zenitsu and Inosuke are summoned to individual missions. Because his swordsmith Hotaru Haganezuka had refused to forge him a new sword due to Tanjiro breaking his previous ones, Tanjiro is told to meet him at the Swordsmith Village to discuss the matter with him in person. He arrives with Nezuko and meets the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and the village's chief Tecchin Tecchikawahara, who assures Tanjiro he will bring Hotaru back to build the sword.

While relaxing in hot springs, Tanjiro and Nezuko encounter Genya, Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa's younger brother and fellow Demon Slayer, who angrily strikes Tanjiro and storms off. Back at the village, Mitsuri hints at Tanjiro about a "secret weapon" hidden in the village that can make him stronger and bids farewell to the siblings. The next day, while searching for the secret weapon, Tanjiro meets with Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and sees that seemingly with him is the same figure from his dream.

The season was completely exciting, from the battle scenes against the upper six, to the the battle against Gyokko and Hantengu, each scene has its wonderful play out, thar we won't get tired of.
