Five Ecchi Anime That Are Better Than You Think

If you're an anime fan then the word Ecchi and hentai is probably not a new or surprising thing to you. So many people have opinions on why they hate ecchi animes and why watching ecchi anime is a complete waste of time and data. While that is true I'm here to confirm and let you know that not all ecchi anime are purely about nudity and senseless sexual comedy. In this post I'll enlighten you on five ecchi anime with plot and story above average. Now that's said, let's get right to it but first?

What Is Ecchi

So many of you have been hearing the word ecchi since day one both how many of you truly know what it means. Ecchi has been adopted by western fans of Japanese media to describe works with sexual overtones. In western culture, it has come to be used to refer to softcore or playful sexuality, as distinct from the word hentai, which connotes perversion or fetishism.

It is important to note that ecchi described by the western fans do not show sexual intercourse or genitalia, but sexual themes are referenced. Ecchi themes are a type of fan service, and can be found in most comedy shōnen and seinen manga and harem anime. Now that you know this, let's get right to it. Five ecchi anime that are better than you think.

5. World End Harem

This anime story follows this guy named Reito Mizuhara who is put into cryostasis in order to wait for the cure of this life threatening disease called Cellular Sclerosis. After five years of deep frozen sleep only to wake up and hear that the world has lost 90% of it male population to another disease and hearing that he is now 1 of 4 male left in the entire Japan.

He is selected for breeding as part of a government plan to repopulate the world. The manga has been adapted into an anime series that premiered in January 2022 and ran for 11 episodes.

Leaving the fact that the sexual part of this anime can't be ignored personally I feel like it played a huge role in the plot and story development of this anime. So if you're looking for an anime to start but don't want senseless fan service that always seems to ruin the plot and story of the anime then world end harem is the right show for you.

4. How Not To Summon A Demon Lord

The story follows a socially awkward gamer named Takuma Sakamoto, who is summoned to a fantasy world as his character, Diablo, the Demon Lord. In this world, he meets two girls who have summoned him to their world to serve as their slave. However, due to his powerful magic, the spell backfires, and the girls become his slaves instead.

If you're looking for anime that comes with the right combination of action, comedy and ecchi I feel like this anime will do justice to all that and more with the perfect fan service and fairly good animation and soundtrack. If you enjoyed the game and the novel then why not check out the anime, available to be streamed on Crunchyroll .

The anime adaptation of the series premiered in July 2018 and ran for 12 episodes. A second season, titled "How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Ω," premiered in April 2021 and ran for 10 episodes.

3. The Testament of Sister New Devil

The Testament of Sister New Devil is a Japanese light novel series written by Tetsuto Uesu and illustrated by Nekosuke Ōkuma. The story follows Basara Tojo, a high school student who suddenly gains two beautiful step-sisters, Mio and Maria Naruse, when his eccentric father remarries.

However, the two sisters are actually a novice devil and succubus. Basara almost ends up forming a dangerous servant and master contract with them, but due to an error, the contract becomes reversed, and Basara becomes the master instead. The anime adaptation of the series premiered in January 2015 and ran for 12 episodes. A second season, titled "The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST," premiered in October 2015 and ran for 10 episodes.

Left to me I give this anime a 4.5/10 rating when it comes to plot and story cause I felt like the anime didn't really have a direction coupled with the excessive fan service both apart from that the anime has really great sound effects and even more impressive fights and backstories.

2. Highschool Of The Dead

The anime story follows a group of high school students and their school nurse as they deal with a worldwide catastrophic event known as the "Outbreak." The outbreak is a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies, referred to by the main characters as "Them." The anime adaptation of the series premiered in July 2010 and ran for 12 episodes. The anime has been praised for its action, horror, and fan service, but criticized for its excessive use of fan service

1.Scum's Wish

This anime follows two high school students, Mugi Awaya and Hanabi Yasuraoka, who are in an unhealthy relationship where they use each other for sex and imagine the person they love as their partner. They seem like the perfect couple in school, passionate and romantic, but that is not the case at all. They use each other to fill their loneliness.

Personally speaking this anime left a hole in me. With the depressing story and cinematic scene I was honestly disappointed at how it ended but this anime is definitely a must watch if you haven't seen it yet go watch and thank me later.
